• Each builder maintains their own NSW Fair Trading licence (typically Builder - Open, Builder - Low Rise, or Builder Restricted to Kitchen, Bathroom and Laundry).
• Builders in our network maintain HIA or Master Builders accreditation along with public liability and workers compensation insurance.
• We do not guarantee the availability, quality, or pricing of services provided by any builder in our network.
• Builders are responsible for their own compliance with the Home Building Act 1989 (which incorporates the domestic building contract regime under Schedule 1B since 1 July 2015) and all other applicable New South Wales and federal laws.

Home building contract requirement

Residential building work in NSW over $5,000 including GST should be covered by a written home building contract under the Home Building Act 1989. A NSW-licensed contractor will provide this in writing as part of the quote. The contract should include the scope of works, contract price, start and finish timing, payment schedule, variations process, warranty wording and the consumer complaint pathway. Home building compensation cover is a separate NSW requirement that generally applies once residential building work exceeds $20,000 including GST.
